Mbappe Injured

Coach Didier Deschamps confirmed that Kylian Mbappe suffered an ankle injury in the 3-0 win over Azerbaijan, leaving Real Madrid in a state of despair.

In the Group D 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Azerbaijan, Mbappe put in a brilliant performance, breaking the deadlock for the home team late in the first half, with France’s team in a stalemate.

In the second half, Rabiot and Thauvin exchanged goals, giving Deschamps’ team a 3-0 victory.

However, their joy was short-lived when Mbappe fell to the ground, his face clearly showing pain. Seeing that he could not continue, the French captain signaled for a substitution.

In the 83rd minute, Mbappe limped off the pitch, leaving fans worried.

After the match, coach Deschamps confirmed the bad news: Mbappe had suffered an ankle injury, which he had been suffering from before joining the French national team.

“Mbappe has suffered another knock to the same ankle. The pain will gradually subside as he rests.

In a match, knocks are unavoidable. We will evaluate Mbappe’s condition further. He has a physical problem.”

Deschamps’ bad news about Mbappe has both worried and upset Real Madrid. They wanted to keep Mbappe to avoid any risks, after he showed signs of pain in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Villarreal.

However, the French captain refused, calling Mbappe on and playing him for over 80 minutes before the number 9 asked to be substituted.

Except for the 5-2 defeat to Atletico, Real Madrid have performed brilliantly with Mbappe since the start of the season, thanks to his excellent goal-scoring efficiency. With El Clasico against Barca fast approaching, Real Madrid will need the best Mbappe to help them win a battle that isn’t just about three points.

The French team’s final match in October’s FIFA Days is away to Ireland at 1:45 a.m. on October 14th.
